INNER NATURE
I began this series by printing frayed textile fragments in stark black and white. The unraveling fibers seemed to echo the natural horizon lines around my Northern California home and I came to consider these landscape works. I foraged in my neighborhood and made my own handmade botanical inks distilled from avocado and loquat plants to paint the expansive skylines that I saw at dusk and dawn . The scale of these pieces grew from small panels to large scale diptychs, as I became immersed in the interactions of the inks and wanted more room for mark-making.
